Hawthorn Football Club

Hawthorn Football Club has more than 9000 members across Tasmania and has played a portion of its home games at Aurora Stadium for the past 15 years. During this time, we have also delivered meaningful programs, such as the annual Community Camp in February, to the Tasmanian community.

Hawthorn also supports a number of charities with the aim to raise awareness of the various social and life challenges faced in the community. ‘Looking after ME’ complements this work. In partnership with the Move Well Eat Well Primary School Award Program, Hawthorn Football Club aims to deliver a program that encourages long-lasting, positive behavioural change around nutrition and physical activity. The program, delivered across the state, is accessible to all schools and links to the Australian Curriculum (years 3-6) with a focus on Health and Physical Education.

Move Well Eat Well

Move Well Eat Well Primary School Award Program is a Tasmanian Government initiative that promotes physical activity and healthy eating as a normal, easy and positive part of every child’s day. Move Well Eat Well is free and open to all schools with a primary enrolment. It is a Department of Health and Human Services program that supports all member schools to take a whole-school approach to healthy eating and physical activity. Move Well Eat Well have partnered with the Hawthorn Football Club since 2011 to further enhance its positive messages to schools.
